About Matters of Milk
Meet Margot Simmons, MEd, BSN-RN, IBCLC
Margot Simmons is more than just an experienced Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC); she is a passionate advocate for every parent navigating the beautiful yet challenging journey of infant feeding. Combined with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a BSN from Quinnipiac University and a Master’s degree in early childhood education and development, Margot’s career in lactation spans over a decade, and she has built her expertise around evidence-based practices, while providing matter-of-fact, practical and nonjudgmental support to families feeding babies in all ways.
At Matters of Milk
At Matters of Milk, Margot doesn’t just offer a service; she is creating a family-by-family movement towards understanding, compassion, and empowerment in infant feeding. Margot celebrates the diversity of feeding journeys, from exclusive breastfeeding to the use of bottles and everything in between and not only recognizes that every choice is valid, but offers a deep belief that while feeding your baby isn’t a choice, the how is nothing more than a choice.
Away from Matters of Milk
When Margot’s not working at the hospital or teaching newborn care and infant-feeding basics, you can find her soccer/dance mom-ing her three kids, beach-walking with friends, playing tennis or finding the next great restaurant in CT with her husband, Jon.
